Licking Ice-cream In Store and Replacing It on Shelf
A female faces 20 years in prison after her video leaking an ice cream tub and placing it back in a U.S. grocery shop last week went viral on social media.
Texas police are determined to track the woman who was filmed in a Walmart opening the ice cream carton, licking the food top and putting it back in the freezer.
Lufkin Police said the female gladly contaminated a 1,8-liter Blue Bell Tin Roof ice cream box— described by the business as “a vanilla ice cream with a rich chocolate fudge swirl and roasted peanuts plunged into dark chocolate”— last week in a Twitter video that gained over 11 million views.
Police claim the female is facing a charge of second-degree theft and tampering with a consumer product that carries a fine of up to AU$14,000 behind bars for up to 20 years.
In a declaration on his website, Blue Bell called the unsettling footage a “malicious act.”
The ice cream maker said the freezer case containing the licked ice cream was inspected, the problem tub was found, and all Tin Roof items were removed from the Lufkin Walmart.
“Our ice cream security is our top concern, and we are working hard to preserve our customers ‘ greatest level of trust. Food manipulation is not a joke, and we will not tolerate manipulation of our products,” Blue Bell said.
With its own ice cream inventory, a Walmart in Corpus Christi takes no chance.
The shop said it was stationing an “armed” guard in front of its valuable Blue Bell freezer to safeguard its frozen goods and posting a photograph of an worker holding a squirt gun on Wednesday; the picture was deleted about 18 hours later.
“We guard our Blue Bell Ice cream for your weekend party, what a wonderful way to cool off in the heat of Hot Texas!” said the article.
